Liz Penman Dip Social Work. Moray House College of Education. Certificate Child Protection Studies, Dundee University.
I have been practicing social work for a very long time! 28 years to be exact. My experience is predominantly in Children and Families and Child Protection but I am currently working as a palliative care social worker in a hospice.
My previous positions include children and families, fostering and adoption and local authority training officer. Laterally I have had management positions as a Team Leader in a busy Out of Hours Social Work Team and a Child Protection Reviewing Officer (chairing child protection case conferences). I was also a lecturer at a further education college for a brief period but I was soon drawn back to the lure of social work again.
My freelance experience has included providing expert witness reports for child care cases, fostering and adoption assessments and child protection training for local authority and the voluntary sector.
