Service Description
The aim of this qualification is to enable candidates (working in a low-risk work environment) to be able to act as an ‘appointed person’ to take charge of the first aid arrangements, including looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the Emergency Medical Services when required. On completion, candidates will be able to deliver basic first aid to people in a range of emergency first aid situations. Course Content -The roles and responsibilities of a first aider -Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency -Managing an unresponsive casualty and the recovery position -Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) -Choking -Bleeding -Shock -Minor injuries -Safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
Cancellation Policy
Payment: Payment must be made prior to the date of the course. Cancellations: A full refund will be given if a booking is cancelled not later than 15 days prior to the course start date or if TfC cancels a course. Times: Stated course lengths include a.m. and p.m. break (15 min) and lunch break (30 min). Courses involving practical exercises may finish earlier than scheduled if participant numbers are low (although the syllabus will have been fully covered). Booking Confirmation will be emailed as soon as possible after we receive your booking request together with all relevant course documentation, if applicable.
