The team leading our Childcare and Adult Care Qualifications are qualified to a high standard, with numerous hands-on years’ experience behind them.

Senior Manager & Head of Childcare
Sheila
After leaving school, Sheila went straight into Childcare, she qualified in 1991 with her Nursery Nurse Qualification. She has done various training since; after challenging herself to a Degree, she graduated with a BA (Hons) Childhood and Youth Studies in 2019. Sheila started with Training for Care in 1992 as an assessor and internal verifier. She gradually worked up to being the Head of Childcare in 2018, when her predecessor retired. Sheila currently manages a team of 9 assessors. In 2022, Sheila took on the role of Senior Manager, she enjoys working with the team. In her spare time, she is involved in her local Church and runs a monthly children’s club.
She also enjoys singing in her choir ‘Sing in the City’ 2025 is a big year for the choir!

Adult Care & Short Courses Manager
Deborah
Deb started working in the care sector in 2006 as a care assistant in Edinburgh at the weekends whilst studying at university and has not looked back. Deborah has worked in different parts of the sector in various roles form support work to management before making the move into learning and development in 2019, where she achieved a sought-after goal of becoming an SVQ assessor and Internal Verifier in Social Services & Healthcare.
Deborah took over as head of the adult care department in 2021 and has a team of 10 assessors/verifiers who deliver SVQ's 2,3,4, Management, CSLM units and the Supervision PDA award. Deborah manages the care training programmes that Training for Care deliver as part of an employability framework and works closely with the Short courses department to bring this all together.
You might find Deb on a hill somewhere in Scotland in her spare time.

Christopher
Currently working towards a BA (Hons) in Accounting at Napier University, Christopher is driven by a strong passion for the field. He is committed to using his expertise to help businesses achieve their financial goals. Outside of his studies, he enjoys running, swimming, and traveling.

Short Course Administrator
Lynn
With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Lynn has specialised in schemes specifically designed for charities and voluntary organisations. She spent 12 years working with a growing charity that supported adults with disabilities, handling administration, finance, payroll, and HR. For the past two years, she has been with TFC, where she manages the Short Courses Department.

Reception/Administration
Sharon
Sharon is the administrator for TFC, bringing years of experience in office administration and customer service. She is the first point of contact for email and telephone inquiries and is always happy to assist. Outside of work, Sharon has an interest in the arts, different cultures, nature, and travel.

Course and Claims Coordinator
Rocio
Rocio is originally from Spain and moved to the UK in 2008, settling in Scotland in 2020. She has two wonderful children and is currently pursuing a BA (Hons) in Accounting. In her free time, she loves getting lost in a good book and enjoying a rich cup of espresso.

Office Administrator
Catia
Catia is originally from Italy and moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2014, where she instantly fell in love with the city. She is currently studying for a BA (Hons) in Accounting at university. One of her hobbies is cooking, and she is always up for a good laugh, so you'll often find her smiling.
