The course uses presentations, activities and discussions to demystify this important subject. It forms part of the National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Well-being and is ideal for staff, volunteers or members of the public who may have to provide initial help, respond to crisis or support recovery for people experiencing a mental health problem.
Lead Tutor
Mike Forrester MA. Mike is a qualified counsellor and mental health first aid trainer, and has been working in support and education settings since 1995. He currently runs the "Life Skills for Schools" service for two high schools in Edinburgh alongside delivering Scotlands Mental Health First Aid and working as a freelance therapist for adults and young people.
